What is Fox River Academy?
Fox River Academy revolves around the idea that learning extends beyond the classroom walls. Students get the opportunity to engage in learning outside with nature. The expectations of what learning outside looks like varies by grade level but all students are expected to be stewards of the environment.
Fox River Academy has two locations - the first includes classrooms inside of Jefferson Elementary for students in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students. The second is the Green Teaching Building (GTB) which is located adjacent to Jefferson Elementary for students in fifth through eighth Grade. Students in Fox River Academy eat lunch and take part in specials (Art, Music, P.E., STEM, Library) inside of Jefferson Elementary. Fox River Academy is also conveniently located near Pierce Park where many outdoor experiences take place.
Joining Fox River Academy
Like all AASD charter schools, Fox River Academy operates on a lottery based system. This means that all new students must apply each year and have their name drawn to be offered a spot at Fox River Academy.
